Jonathan Casbohm
Executive Director
Jon joined the ministry of Skyview Ranch in January of 2022. Before coming to SVR, Jon spent 6 years in Pastoral ministry (Outreach, Discipleship, Youth & Counseling) at First Baptist Church of Elyria, Ohio and 10 years in business management. He holds degrees in Business Marketing (B.A.-Liberty University) and Ministry (M.A.- Piedmont International Univ.), and is currently working on his Doctorate in Community Care & Counseling through Liberty University. Jon has been serving youth and families in various capacities for over 15 years and has extensive experience in teaching, counseling, coaching (soccer), and organizational leadership. Jon is passionate about developing leaders and discipling young people. Jon and his wife Amber have 5 children (Kali, Kayden, Kayci, Konnor and Klayton) and love serving in the ministry together. They are members at First Baptist Church of Elyria. When the Casbohms aren't serving at camp they love camping, playing sports, fishing, skiing/snowboarding, and spending time with friends and family.
Jon's Favorite Passage: Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."

Josh Witry
Operations Director & Guest Experience
Josh has serving at SVR since 2013 as our former Office Director until stepping into his current position in 2018, serving for over twelve years in camp ministry. He is married to his wife Stephanie and has one son named Jackson. Josh holds an M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Clarks Summit University. When not at work, Josh spends his free time with Disc Golf, board games, and having fun with his family. He and his wife share an impressive library, and a love for collecting mugs!
Josh's Favorite Passage: Romans 8:28 - "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Josiah Bitner
Director of Programming and Spiritual Life Development
Josiah has been serving at Skyview Ranch in various roles since 2019! He worked as a counselor, program director, and support staff supervisor during the summers and then as an intern in the Fall of 2023. He began his current role as Director of Programming and Spiritual Life Development in 2024! Josiah graduated from Cedarville University in 2022 with a degree in Secondary Social Studies Education! He spent a year teaching high school social studies in Columbus before coming to Skyview. Josiah is married to his wife Kaylie, our Director of Communications and Outdoor Education. When not at work, Josiah enjoys spending time with friends, serving in the youth ministry at Alpine Bible Church, and playing or watching sports!
Josiah’s Favorite Passage: 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 – “And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. Kaylie Bitner
Director of Communications and Outdoor Education
Kaylie has been serving on Skyview Ranch Summer Staff since 2016! She has worked as a lifeguard, cleaning staff, counselor and program director. She graduated from Cedarville University in 2022 with a degree in Environmental Science. She began her role as Director of Communications and Outdoor Education in 2023. Kaylie spent a year in Columbus as a Middle School Science Teacher before coming to work at Skyview. Kaylie is married to her husband Josiah, our Director of Programming and Spiritual Life Development. She enjoys anything outside, drinking coffee, spending time with her family and cats, and watching Survivor.
Kaylie's Favorite Passage: 1 Corinthians 15: 3-7 - "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, then he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Kent Hurlbert
Farm & Facilities Director
Kent began his ministry at Skyview Ranch in 2022. Kent is a carpenter by trade with a passion for ministry! With several years of camp ministry, Kent is positioned well to serve in his role at SVR effectively. Growing up, Kent spent time in New York state, New Mexico and Ohio. He has been a member of First Baptist Church of Elyria since Jr. High and has enjoyed serving in various ministries within the church. He now attends Alpine Bible Church. Kent spent one year studying world missions at Faith Baptist Bible College, but answered the call when he felt the Lord calling him to serve at Skyview Ranch full time. Kent is married to his wife Sylvia, our Equine Director. Kent loves the outdoors, rock climbing, biking, extreme sports, drawing and architectural design.
Kent's Favorite Passage: Romans 12:1-2 - " I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world,[c] but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

Sylvia Hurlbert
Equine Director
Sylvia joined the Skyview Ranch ministry team in 2022! She attended camp at SVR for many years growing up and has always desired to serve at the Ranch. Sylvia is a member of Alpine Bible Church. She is married to her husband, Kent, our Farm and Facilities Director. Sylvia loves animals, being outdoors, baking and drawing.
Sylvia's Favorite Passage: Romans 8:38-39 - "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor heights, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Sam Smerdel
Food Services Director
Sam has been part of the ministry at SVR since 2013! Since coming to Skyview Ranch Sam has held summer staff roles and was an intern before joining our full-time staff in 2021. He and his wife Abigail have been married since 2019 and they have one son (Solomon) and one daughter (Juniper). Sam is originally from the Cleveland area and has been attending Skyview Ranch Camp since childhood. In his free time, Sam enjoys gaming with friends, exploring the outdoors and spending time with his family.
Sam's Favorite Passage: Philippians 2:14-16 - "Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain."

Jocelyn Gray
Office Director
Jocelyn serves as the Office Director at Skyview Ranch. Jocelyn has served at Skyview Ranch since 2023. She has served as a cabin counselor, program director and has served as an intern for 2 years. When not at work Jocelyn enjoys graphic design, watercolor painting, and going to hockey games. Jocelyn is married to Braden Gray, Hospitality Coordinator at Skyview Ranch.
Jocelyn’s Favorite Bible Passage: Matthew 11:29 – “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Aaron Shrock
Full Time Ranch Hand
Aaron Shrock serves as our Full Time Ranch Hand at Skyview. He works closely with our Farm and Facilities Director and our Equine Director. Aaron started working at Skyview as a volunteer in 2017 and has worked as a part of the grounds crew, barn staff, counselor and as an Intern. Aaron is from Clinton, Ohio and attends Calvary Baptist Church, Coshocton. Aaron graduated from R.G. Drage Career and Technical Center for Building Construction and Technology. Some of Aaron’s favorite things to do in his free time are to hunt and fish. Aaron is married to Leah Shrock, our Hospitality Coordinator.
Aaron’s favorite verse is John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Leah Shrock
Hospitality Coordinator
Leah Shrock will be serving as our Hospitality Coordinator and will help with overseeing the Ranch Store, cleaning and other guest group needs. Leah has been around Skyview Ranch since Fall 2023. She started as a Summer Camp Counselor and then worked as an intern the following year. Leah is married to Aaron Shrock, our Ranch Hand at Skyview Ranch. In her free time she enjoys thrifting, local coffee shops, art and being outside in God’s Creation as much as possible!
Leah’s Favorite Bible Passage is Galatians 5:22-26: “ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”

Braden Gray
Guest Services Coordinator
Braden has been serving at Skyview Ranch since 2021 as summer staff as kitchen staff, a cabin counselor, and the support staff supervisor. Braden has also served as an intern at the Ranch the past 2 years. In his second year, Braden served his internship specifically in Guest Services. Braden’s current role is the Hospitality Coordinator. When not at work, Braden enjoys playing X-box, watching hockey, making music and spending time with friends. Braden is married to Jocelyn Gray, our Office Director for Camp Patmos.
Braden’s Favorite Bible Passage: Hebrews 6:10-12 – “For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

Lauri Liess
Equine Coordinator
Lauri is serving as our Equine Coordinator at Skyview Ranch. She started out as a wrangler on summer staff and later interned and recently served as the Barn Supervisor on our Team. Lauri will be working directly with the Equine Director, Sylvia, to take care of the horses, keeping them healthy and fit for trail rides at the Ranch. In her free time, Lauri enjoys leather working and is working on trying to get a small business up and running. Before coming to Skyview, Lauri had been a part of a couple different large working farms and horse training stables, where she gained a lot of experience.
Lauri’s favorite Bible Passage is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Aaron Hurlbert
Project Coordinator at Camp Patmos and Skyview Ranch
Aaron Hurlbert will be serving at the Projects Coordinator Skyview Ranch and Camp Patmos. He will be in help coordinate all the major projects and remodels at both camps, and will travel between as necessary. While Aaron and his wife, Pam, just started serving at Skyview Ranch this Spring, he has been involved in the construction industry for most of his life. He was also previously a missionary builder as Associate Church Planter. In his free time, Aaron enjoys woodworking, house remodeling, restoring old trucks and spending time with grandkids and family. Aaron is the father of Kent Hurlbert, our Farm and Facilities Director. He is very thankful to be serving alongside friends and family at this point in his life.
Aaron’s favorite bible passage is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Jackie Fairbanks
Accountant
Jackie has been serving at SVR since 2010. She is married to her husband, Jim, and has three children named Amanda, Paul, and Phoebe. Jackie currently commutes from New Franklin, OH. She has a B.B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration from Kent State University, and has been a certified accountant since 1991. Outside of SVR, she loves scrapbooking, being entertained by Max the cat, spending time with her husband, and cheering on her kids in their favorite sports.
