We've been busy here at Skyview in the last six months. Above you will see the two latest projects to be completed (or very nearly completed). The women's bathroom and shower facility is finished, thanks to the efforts of dozens of people who donated time and well over a hundred who donated money and other resources. These bathrooms are new from top to bottom, with all new plumbing, new flooring, new showers, new sinks, new bathrooms and new mirrors. It looks beautiful. A smaller men's bathroom was also installed in the lower part of the lodge to increase convenience. The other major project being worked on currently is the Pavilion, formerly known as the Last Resort (which was formerly known as the Lions back when the Browns players ran the camp during the 1960's). This past summer the hard-working grithogs demolished the walls and saved the roof, which was still in very good condition. What was once an old storage shed is now turning into a beautiful pavilion which will house a place for campers to play carpetball and otherwise hang out with each other. In the next month we will also be installing horse shoes and a beach volleyball court in the same area. So, what's next for Skyview? We are doing intense research into the building of a new swimming pool. The old one has served faithfully for many years. To provide a better place for camper interaction and fun, we are looking to build a pool facility that is larger than the current pool. Be on the lookout for new information on this budding project as we do more research and planning homework. Do you have any ideas about a new pool? We'd love to hear them. Please email us and let us know what you think! |
